Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie work together to compose “We Are the World” for African famine relief, with Quincy Jones producing the project.

The writing session is the creative starting point for one of the largest charity singles of the decade. It leads directly into the demo circulation and all-star recording session later in January 1985.
