Matt Forger is an American audio engineer who worked closely with Michael Jackson for over two decades, beginning during the Thriller sessions in 1982. His credits with Jackson span Bad (1987), Dangerous (1991), HIStory (1995), Blood on the Dance Floor (1997), and Invincible (2001). Forger served as Jackson’s technical director and engineer, and was the primary engineer at Jackson’s home studios at Hayvenhurst and Neverland. He also engineered the legendary “Vincent Price rap” overdub for the Thriller title track.
Beyond Jackson, Forger has engineered for Quincy Jones, James Ingram, Patti Austin, and Stevie Wonder. He continues to give interviews and lectures about Jackson’s recording techniques.
