Rebbie Jackson releases “Centipede” as a single

Rebbie Jackson, the eldest of the Jackson siblings, releases her debut solo single “Centipede” on Columbia Records. Written and produced by her younger brother Michael, the track features Michael on backing vocals alongside Tito Jackson on guitar.

The single becomes Rebbie”s biggest commercial success, peaking at number four on the US Billboard Hot Black Singles chart and number 24 on the Hot 100. It would be certified Gold for sales of half a million copies.
