Hands Across America single released

“Hands Across America” / “We Are the World” is released in support of the Hands Across America project sponsored by USA for Africa.

The release connects the earlier famine-relief anthem with a new American charity campaign. Grant notes that some early issues credit “We Are the World” to Voices of America, later corrected to USA for Africa.
